Did you know that zebra's are actually black with white stripes instead of the other way around? And did you know they're colored like that to confuse and keep flies from landing on their fur? Those facts made me think of all the other stuff we might not know about animals and what kind of funny visuals we could create if we made up our own stories around made-up facts.
What if a zebra has to paint on her stripes every morning? What if a cow had to iron her spots before she could go outside? What if a kangaroos’ pocket isn’t to keep her children warm at all, but is actually used to hold all her packages as she’s making her rounds through the neighborhood?
I get inspired by the silly questions we can ask about anything and that’s how most of my illustrations are born.
